The fresh harvests look delicious and the plants growing in the bed look sturdy and healthy. That is a nice bounty of harvest for this time of year.

Aha! I'm growing that same self-blanching celery this year but hadn't seen it "in action" before. ;)

Michelle: That celery is fantasic...I just go out and give it a *hair-cut* whenever I need celery...it's about 3 seasons old...I transplanted from my Community Garden.

Looks wonderful Lynda. I could eat it all up right now! Yum!

Your harvests were abundant and beautiful! That's a lot of broccoli!

The Romanesco is such a beautiful vegetable. I am definitely going to grow some next year. I also grow the same variety of celery....it's great and easy to grow.

You really have quite a nice harvest of broccoli!!

Ditto what everyone above said. I've got a long way to go before I hop back in here with harvests, but I sure enjoy seeing those from other gardens.

Wow! What an incredible harvest you have. You are way ahead of me. I think I'll make a note about your celery. I've been thinking about growing some, but haven't gotten any started. Don't know anything about it, and I think I should just jump in with both feet and start learning!

My celery looks like a bush and nothing like a long stalk. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Lynda said...

Oh mine look like a bush, too. I'm ok with that..as long as it tastes like celery. In the field they bring the dirt up around the stalks to blanch and hold them together...sometimes they will wrap them to keep the stalks together. Too much work for me!

My garden wants to look like yours when it grows up. :)

I know you are probably getting tired of it but I would kill for two pounds of broccoli. It looks so good.

beautiful Harvest, it looks fresh and delicious!I wish I had started earlier planting... I will try to start a garden at the end of summer this year to harvest in winter. It :)

where do you store the squash?

Lynda said...

Andrea: I actually store my squash in the well pumphouse...it's really cool in there and it's close to the garden. I should use my basement...but the stairs are really narrow and I fell down them years ago and hardly ever go down there now.

good to know! thanks!
plz dont use the basement :)
