I've been baking with my sourdough starter for the last few weeks. I usually whip up a batch of sourdough waffles or pancakes every weekend. My starter is from my grandmother and she told me it was my grandfather's before they were married. My grandfather kept bees, so no maple syrup, just fresh churned butter and honey on our pancakes at Grandma's house...I keep up the tradition. But this last Sunday I wanted something super yummy, something to remind me of warm Spring days...so I whipped up a batch of sourdough pancakes, spread on some homemade Mascarpone cheese and dumped a pint of cherry pie filling I made last June...my version of a super-duper cheese blintz: hot damn! Gooooooooood!
oh that looks to die for! Can't wait to have my own cherries, one of my favorite fruits, tho it will be a few years yet... I love sourdough and used to have a sourdough cookbook with all sorts of things including cake recipes
OOOOOOHH!!! YUMMMMMM Sourdough crash and burn. I started some sourdough up, its making whoopie too, seems happy. Love the cherry pancake idea, I will have to try that. Now, look, Lynda, you made me gain 20# just looking at everything! LOL :8)

Ditto! Make that three! Looks yummy!
Looks good. That reminded me to feed my starter.
My goodness that looks amazing! How nice that you have kept that starter going for all these years!
So neat that you have you grandmother's starter still going. Those cheesy cherry pancakes sound delicious!
