Last year my son brought home several fruit trees for me from the Colusa Farm Show and they have all done well. I'm in love with the tiny fruit orchard I planted. I will be pruning them a very tiny bit this weekend. My fruit bushes are looking a bit worse for wear. The blueberries, Jewel cherries, currants and loquats are ready to be planted out in their permanent homes...I planted them in pots last year and they survived...but they really need to be in the ground. I'm rooting 3 varieties of grapes, raspberries and black berries, too. The avocado was frostbitten again this year...if this poor tree survives it will be the strongest avocado on the West Coast!! I have a busy couple of weekends planned. Our school has two three day weekends in a row: Whoot! Whoot!

I have a peach tree, plum tree, several figs, a pair of hazelnuts, and a pair of pecans. I believe the apple tree that I bought last year was killed by the chickens (who would have thought that chickens would dig it up?!). This year I want to try another apple or two and maybe a pear but so far all I have bought is a lemon tree :/
Awww, babies! Love those little baby trees. Nice of your kid to bring you such a treasure.
We were burning this weekend, and I needed a new rake, so I went to the local Ace Hardware store. I popped into their gardening center, and they have lots of trees. I found a seedless orange that has fruit that ripens in the spring! And avocados, and lemons, and figs, and all sorts of things I NEED! Alas, we are trying hard to get the spot ready, but I think it might have to wait another year. Unless I buy them now and pot them up to be replanted later. Hmmmmm......

Very cool! You will be rolling in yummy fruits in no time at all.
I don't think you can ever have to many fruit trees and berry plants. I hope your avocado survives.
