OK...I can now leave for my five days up at the Cabin. I wanted to take a "batch" up to the cabin for tonight's dinner and got sucked into the "black-hole" of the bean patch. One thing leads to another! When I get back, I'll pick and can another batch of beans and PULL THEM OUT! 150 pint jars of green beans should be enough. I'm taking 6- 5 gallon buckets of canning tomatoes up the hill so I don't get bored: Yea Right!..no rest for the weary!

Nothing more satisfying than seeing your hard work lined up on a shelf.
Congrats! They look terrific!
Sue: My family thinks I spend way too much time gardening and canning..."Just buy stuff at the store, Ma...you can afford it." I don't get the same warm and fuzzy feeling when I buy it at the store!! By the way...those same kids come to my house to stock up on home-canned: "Store bought just doesn't taste the same, Ma." Yep...it's missing the most important ingredient: LOVE.
Your green beans look fantastic. Mine are stunted because of lack of rain and there just isn't enough collected rainwater for everything! Still, I'm glad for what I get. Your photos are inspiring.
Leigh: Thank you. For whatever reason I am able to grow some amazing green beans. My gardening friends and I have reduced the size of our canning gardens this year and last (drought) and we each grew lots of what we are good at: I'm in charge of the green beans...there's 4 other ladies I share with so I grew plenty.
