What My Gas Tank's Tell'n Me

My world is small...very small.  I just filled my little pick-up with gas so I could go up to my cabin...20 gallon tank.  I log my fill-ups.  This is my second tank of gasoline since the 6th of June.  I go to the Farmers Market every Monday: that's an 18 mile round trip...the cabin is 101 miles one way....I have been to the cabin twice since June.  *Town* is 4 miles away...maybe I go into town every other week...usually less.  Gosh...I gotta' get a life! Notice how I said the little pick-up? I'm not driving the new truck...too BIG...too much gas. FYI: Sunday drives with the Husband are in his truck on his dime!

I wish I could stay home more than I do. Hubby has other ideas. Sigh.

Oh, I do miss our little Ranger. The new truck is "luxury", the little one was a work horse. How am I ever going to haul manure ever again????

I think that you have a wonderful life! Good for you not having to buy much gas!

We're a little truck family too. We have a 97 that just turned over 200,000 miles a week ago. It's lived in Washington, California and now Pennsylvania and it just keeps going. I love it.

Your cabin "driveway" looks like an amazing getaway. I'd love to see the house. Belle and the kids are big campers. We're planning our September trip now. Good times!

I have a F-150 that I drive to town in and I only go about twice a month as it is. Love my truck! :)

Your driveway to the cabin reminds me of the 1 1/2 mile dirt road that leads me to my brother/sister-in-laws house between Napa and Sonoma counties.
Always a trip to unwind with.

Sue: I'll be going to *town* a bit more..I've taken a parttime job at the school..but I may be riding my bicycle.

Annie's Granny: I have a Land Rover @ 8 miles a gallon...parked and waiting for an off-road adventure. The new Tundra has gone to my husband. The little Dodge was the irrigator's truck: mine now and it holds plenty of manure!

Robin: I do have a wonderful life: I celebrate every day.

Jody: I think I have a few pictures of the cabin somewhere in the blog. It's an old lumber mill shack...it was added on to in the 70's...I love it: not fancy at all. I even have a 3 hole outhouse!

Nancy: I love a truck and a truck-drivin' man!

Steve: My cabin is 3.5 miles off of the paved road...lots of pines and ferns...it's above Chico in the Sierra's. Aren't the roads in the Napa/Sonoma Valley's wonderful!

even the little trips seem to cost big $$ these days! love the driveway! the driveway to the little hobby farm that we co-own with some family goes through a creek. Dry now but at times uncrossable!

When I read your post I what came to mind was how a hundred or even fifty years ago a trip to one's state fair must have seamed like doing to the moon. Sorta full circle.

Last night we watched Under the Tuscan Sun and I fell in love with the 3-wheeled pick up truck.

Allot more of my neighbors are biking and one house on our block actually sold to a family moving in from the burbs. They are downsizing lol. Wife hates it but Dad is loving not mowing a half acre lot. No no commute to speak of.
