More Raised Beds or an Ark?

Well, it's raining again.  It's a nice soft rain...not too cold, no wind...but come on...enough is enough.  I hate to complain because in our neck of the woods we have water rationing more often then not...it seems for every wet year we have five (5) very dry ones.  I'm just running out of indoor activities!  I've organized my seeds three (3) times.  I have a half dozen books half read...yawn!  I watched Jurassic Park, Doomsday and Deep Impact, so I'm sick of the television. I baked until the oven cried for mercy. I colored my hair, cleaned an already clean closet. Knitted a jumper for Isla and started another for Little Lynda. I made two more aprons for *girlfriend* gifts for my b'day.   The chickens have been fed, the two new pigs are nice and cozy, it's just me getting on my own nerves.  The forecast for the remainder of the week is sunshine: PLEASE!  If not, I'm going to forget about a couple more raised beds and just build myself an ark.

Yep, looks like you need an ark. I'll come and help build your ark, if you will help me with snow shoes!

Oh my... building an ark may be just what you need and it will keep you busy for a while anyway. You can always come out here and help me with those plots!!

Love the cartoon, Lynda! This too, shall pass. I imagine we all will be wishing for rain at some point this summer. :)

Thanks for the book suggestions...I have read "The End of Food" but "The Cheese Chronicles" looks interesting. I think you have what is fondly called...cabin fever!

I hear ya Lynda! It's all or nothing around here too. We're forcast for sunshine the rest of the week too, but I'll have to give it a few more days to let the mud settle. Can't drive the pick-up in the back yard to work on the beds when it's this soggy.

It always seems to be that way with rain here as well, feast or famon. mmm did I spell famon right? lol well anyway you get the point.

On the propane, I am tired of paying out 1100.00 plus when we fill our propane tank! I have been asking for wood stoves for the last um well lets see, oh yes that was me who said we should put them in when we built the house 7 years ago. Ummm we did fireplaces instead uh huh I am not even going there lol, propane has more than doubled in price since then... we are putting them in now so I am happy and actually the DH is excited too! :O).

Gosh, your place looks like ours. And more is on the way. I'm wondering today if I can get anything done outside before the next storm arrives!

Next year I was planning a Feb. get-a-way to California .. now I may rethink it .. perhaps Hawaii instead ;) We're under the same non-stop cloud/rain/sleet/snow veil .. I'm going to plant some seeds today and am still dreaming up my raised garden beds/deer surround/drip line/etc. DREAMing is all I can do at this point. You, at least, have got the animals fed and have been busy .. I've just been sulking (boo-hoo;)

Praying for a little cloud break.
