Finding Peace

After spending most of yesterday in the Community Garden mess, I am so happy to sit in my own garden sipping homemade lemonade and reading a nice book.  My bees are buzzing right past my head going from their bee yard to the flowers growing in the garden beds.  Plus, the citrus and the apple trees are blooming; the honey will be fantastic when I pull a couple frames later next week.  My two bachelor rooster brothers are here inside the garden enclosure with me chasing each other and stopping now and then to munch on a bug.  I only let them in the garden when I'm with them...they can be really destructive.  The flock of girls' and their hubby keep a close eye on me...they know I'll be treating them to cabbage, broccoli, beet and cauliflower leaves before I head up to the house.  Yep! This is the life...everyone should enjoy such PEACE.

Your beds look fantastic! do you use drip irrigation? We are going to try to install a very simple drip irrigation to the rows.

My shade cover frames are capoot! We have had the worst wind I can remember in a long time and some very rough thunderstorms with extremely high winds... pvc has broken so much we are going to let them go for now. Had to take the shade covers down. We will try again with metal framing at a later date! But in the mean time, I think if we can get some drip irrigation in maybe that will help. I have so much to try to water by hand.

Your photos are so inspiring! I really like the cinder blocks. We'll do ours that way eventually, but it may take a few years! LOL

Everything looks lovely Lynda. Our bees are doing well also, I have to share the lavender flowers with them. With all the wildflowers in bloon right now I wonder why they pick the lavender and rosemary?
